G2 Console: Tactical Knowledge To Manage Your Business World

The G2 Console offers clients some of the most comprehensive management tools for the retail channel with 1) events detection,
2) reports highlighting industry trends, and 3) detailed channel analysis. These tools are:

1) MyScout – is PriceG2's proprietary search engine that is used by clients to track competitors products or your own products in the retail channel. Manage your retailers and competitors more closely by getting daily alerts when new products are offered for sale or when advertised products change price or availability.
2) Pricing Tables & Charts: Today/Week/Quarter/Year – The pricing tables and charts are a powerful tool to see exactly where competitors are pricing their products relative to your own. Clients can select up to 6 suppliers to plot on this page at a time. Suppliers products may be selected by company name, brand, and key product features.
3) Shelf – With one click, clients can see all of their industry’s products on the shelf at a retailer, organized by product category. Use this page to see what competitors are selling directly against you at a retailer and what their product capabilities are. Clients can also use this to verify their own products are made available by retailers.
4) Distribution Map – This tool functions as the inverse of the Shelf web page: the client selects just one supplier’s products and the table then renders a map of all of the retailers that currently distribute that supplier’s products. The selection can be made by supplier only, or by supplier/brand/key features. For example, if a client wanted to see if a competitor's product line included the newest highest capacity products, this web page could find the answer in just a couple of mouse clicks.
5) Stats – This section has 2 web pages that provide charts with a) the lowest $/GB products found as of today and b) the market price erosion on major category products measured as the starting price from week 1 of the quarter to the lowest price found as of today.
6) Calendar – There are many retail holidays throughout the calendar year. This page plots the major retailer holidays and includes a calculator so clients can plot their day/week/month setback schedule activities required to prepare for a specific retailer holiday.

Description: MyScout is proprietary software that enables clients to
search the top retailers daily, "putting eyes" on the market to look for
specific events, or triggers. The triggers are confidential to each client
and may be set to find answers to questions such as:

   Price:

Where is the lowest market price for this model today?
Am I the low price leader, priced in the middle, or the highest price?
Am I lowering price first or did my competitor already lower the price?
How many of my competitors are already at this same low price?

   New Models:

Who was first to market with the next highest capacity?
What was it priced at?
When did the new model from XYZ company appear at a specific retailer e.g. BestBuy?
When did that model appear at the next retailer?

   Retailer Management:

Side-by-side comparison of what price the retailer is offering my product vs. my competitors product today
Has a new competitor been added and are they fighting for shelf space at your same retailer?
Did my retailer drop one or more of my products?

   Technology Advances:

How quickly are my competitors bringing out new products?
When can I expect that they might introduce the next product and at what price?

How It Works:   clients input their search criteria, or triggers, into the MyScout search engine. Using the client's search criteria, MyScout runs daily to looking for matches to the client's triggers. When it finds a match, it sends the client an email notification with the results. This email informs the client if any triggers matched, and if so, what the results of the match were. The client can change their search criteria at any time to be used the next time the search engine runs. Knowing this information on a daily basis is a tactical advantage. Clients can quickly take action to better manage their business and outflank their competitors.

MyScout is Best-in-Class:  MyScout search technology is best-in-class because it is the only search engine that tracks retail products by brand, company, key product classifications, lowest priced, highest priced, middle priced, etc. and makes this database information available to clients’ searches. Other search engines may offer to provide a low price of certain models, but “where does this data come from? Are they showing the pricing for just one model that is on special by one retailer, or have they tracked all models? Can they drill down and show all competing products by brand, side by side?” MyScout offers comprehensive searches for professionals who are serious about tracking industry trends in the retail market because retail is their livelihood.

How Do I Get It?   Contact a representative from PriceG2 and we will get you on your way to setting up your own MyScout to put surveillance on the retail markets you do business in.

Hyperlinks Made Easy: cells on the table and in the charts have hyperlinks attached. If the mouse is hovered over a cell in the table or a point in a chart, it will display that item's key information. Then if this item is clicked on, it will jump to the original retailers web page and bring up this item (provided it is still on sale by the retailer).

Shelf

With one click, clients can see all of their industry’s products on the shelf at a retailer, organized by product category. Use this page to see what competitors are selling directly against you at a retailer and what their product capabilities are. Clients can also use this to verify their own products are made available by retailers. Here is an example.
